Dress Code

Campers and counselors will be active throughout the day bending, dancing, jumping, and more. Keep this in mind when choosing outfits. Camp is 7 days long, but it can be messy and sweaty. It is recommended to bring extra outfits to account for days where you may want to change mid-day. This includes undergarments and socks.

Temperatures are typically in the 90's during the day and drop as low as the mid 60's overnight. It is recommended to bring  a jacket for evening and early morning use.

Shoes must be secured with a heel strap. Close toed shoes, such as sneakers, are strongly encouraged. Secure sandals with a heel strap are permitted but discouraged due to the risk for stubbed toes. Bringing multiple pairs of shoes is recommended so that if shoes are wet, shoes are dirty, or a camper or counselor has a blister, they have another option available. Sandals without a heel strap such as flip flops, or other types of less secure shoes such as crocs or slides, are only permitted in the shower house.

If pants or shorts are form fitting such as bike shorts, leggings, or yoga pants, a longer shirt should be worn that covers the pelvis in the front and the back. Shorts should be long enough that they are visible under the shirt. No boxers or underpants should be visible at any time.

Unless at the waterfront, shirts should be worn at all times. Shirts should not be excessively short or have cut outs that show the midriff, sides, or chest.

Logos that reference anything forbidden in the counselor code of conduct such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or firearms are not permitted. Logos with inappropriate language, innuendo, or crude humor are not permitted.

Hats are encouraged for sun protection but must be removed when indoors.

The waterfront at camp is always bustling with activity and is in direct sunlight. Swim trunks, swim shorts, rash guards, swim shirts, one piece swimsuits, and tankinis are encouraged to ensure freedom of movement and sun protection. Swimsuits that are secured with knots rather than clips or elastic are discouraged due to the increased risk of a wardrobe malfunction. When choosing swimwear, think: Would this give me a disadvantage in a chicken fight? If so, it’s probably not the best swimwear for camp!
